Room n. 7 – QUEENSLAND (London 2011) – Limited Edition 2/125 - Print only
The artwork is a digital collage of original photographs shot by me in London in 2011.
It is part of a photographic project aimed at telling places and sensations. Sometimes the storytelling is about symbolic places, other times about locations that just leave you breathless.
This piece is about connection.
Connection between monarchy and the underground culture, the old and the new. In London it seems they cannot be unbundled and this is the purpose of the collage. The British Museum cupole, representing the Queen, guards, Horatio Nelson, the cab and the Trafalgar Square fountain perform as tradition. The historical mural, no longer visiblein Camden Town due to a fire in 2017, seeds installation in Tate Modern Museum and a wallpaper inside Buckingham Palace representing vanguard.Printed on excellent Fine Art Paper 100% cotton - Hahnemühle Photo Rag® 308 gr. in 2021
