Room n. 6 – PEINTURE DE GUERRE (Omaha Beach 2012) - Limited Edition 3/125 - Print only
The artwork is a digital collage of original photographs shot by me in Omaha Beach in 2012.
It is part of a photographic project aimed at telling places and sensations. Sometimes the storytelling is about symbolic places, other times about locations that just leave you breathless.
This piece is about freedom.
I was inspired by the Delocroix's paint “La Liberté guidant le peuple” to compose this picture. I was deeply impressed visiting such a symbolic place, and the feeling that something terrible happened there was intense. Then I saw the little girl running free and light-hearted and I started to breathe again.
