The artwork is a digital collage of original photographs shot by me in Dublin in 2021.

It is part of a photographic project aimed at telling places and sensations. Sometimes the storytelling is about symbolic places, other times about locations that just leave you breathless.

This piece is about awareness.

I have been in Dublin for several times in my life. I also lived there for some periods. It was a love at first side since I was six. Last time I came back  in 2021, after five years, and I discovered that something was changed. It was a very disorienting feeling. The first day I walked around to found an answer. The second day I focused that I was simply looking at a “new economy” process. A very fast economic growth that changed social and architectonical aspects of the city. On one side the historical heart of Dublin, studded of beautiful buildings no longer crowded with laughs and music as I remembered, and on the other side shimmering constructions representing an incoming wealth. This is the story behind this work. The story of a growth related to my awareness and Dublin one. An unpretentious vision. Maybe a starting point for a reflection.

This artwork received an HONORABLE MENTION in IPA 2022.
